In a world that spins madly, Twan Peeters (1974, Breda, Netherlands) searches for moments of softness, stillness, and intimacy. With his photography, he focuses on the beauty of life close to us.
Health problems make his life a daily challenge. A little walk outside is quite a task. Sometimes it’s possible to photograph nature during these walks, which provides a moment of joy. Life is still a struggle: dark periods alternate with moments of subdued light. Freedom and happiness are not always a given. You have to keep looking to find something to hold on to.
‘Defusion’ is a series of images that show that once you change your focus and soften your eyes, you start noticing the small beautiful things. Maybe hidden, but they’re there.
