My city garden
‘My city garden’ is an ongoing project that started summer 2022. These photos were made in my tiny city garden. I long to be in nature. My garden is my daily substitute for this need. I plant, prune and fertilize to my taste. While photographing I put the plants in the right light to enhance their beauty. Gardening can be an act of freedom, defining freedom as ‘the power to act as one wants’. But do all actions create a sense of freedom? Can it be that my desire to romanticize gets in the way of truly seeing? And maybe this can limit my feeling of freedom? Or is my effort to create and see beauty helping me to feel freedom?
